The Browser Madness : A journey through the wild world of browsers
Well Hello there! I am Balaji and in this article I will try to educate you what browser you use and make you question yourself is it the right choice for you and suggest you some good ones. Without any due let's get started.
Why Should you even read this article?
Well let me ask you a simple question. Why are you using the browser that you currently use? Let me guess, Is it because it was pre-installed and default browser or is it because it is the most popular browser on the internet which is used by literally everyone or in the worst case you don't even have a reason. These are the answers 90% of the web browser users give but do you know that nearly 80% of your time on your pc you spend it in a browser, then why not spend 5 minutes and figure out the best browser for your use case.
Different types of browsers currently available on the internet
So basically you might think there are 100's of browsers available out there but did you know there are only 2 major types of player's in the market. They are :
Chromium based browsers
All others
Yes literally 70% of the browser world is occupied by chromium based browsers. Well if you are thinking what chromium based is, It is an open source software developed and maintained by Google and most of the popular browsers like Google chrome, Microsoft edge, Opera, Brave and many others are just built on top of chromium and that is why they are called chromium based browsers.

Who are the others?
Even though majority of the browser market is occupied by chromium based data eating monsters there are some good competitors for them too. They are :
Mozilla firefox family based on Quantum browser engine
Safari based on engine WebKit (worse than chromium based)
Epiphany based WebKit (part of GNOME)
and many others
From the above list you might have recognized browsers like firefox and safari which are quite popular.
How to select a browser for yourself?
Basically every web surfer ๐ has his/her own use case to surf the web and in the same every user have a use case to use a particular browser, the only thing is you need to figure out what you are use case is and how can you do that? Well just by questioning your own actions in your browser. Some of the questions are listed below ?
Do you bookmark a lot ?
Are you into gaming ?
Do you visit websites that are high on ads and trackers?
Do you do a lot of gaming stuff?
Do you visit malicious websites ๐?
and so on
By answering such questions you can categorize yourself into various people like gamers, readers, video content consumers and many such.

Torr - Torr Download (don't you dare download it unless you are a cyber security professional)

Vivaldi - Vivaldi download (highly customizable)
For gamers
Opera GX - Opera Download (best for gaming)

Brave - Brave Download (highly known for it's ad and tracker blockers)
