The Vendor Scoring System

This scoring system is divided into four key sections: Support, Delivery, Operations, and Financial. Each section is evaluated on a scale from 1 to 4, with the following categories:

  1. Unacceptable
  1. Low

  2. Average

  3. High

  4. Exceptional

The maximum score for each section is 4, making the total possible score 16. The vendor’s final score is then represented as a percentage of this maximum score.

Section 1: Support

  • Timely Responses: Are questions and requests answered promptly?

  • Understanding Needs: Does the vendor understand and cater to your company’s specific requirements?

High scores in this section reflect a vendor’s effectiveness in communication and responsiveness.

Section 3: Operations

Operations evaluate the technical quality and innovation of the vendor’s products and services. Criteria include:

  • Product Performance: Do the products or services perform as expected and meet your specifications?

  • Maintenance Services: Are maintenance services delivered in line with your expectations?

  • Innovation: Is the vendor proactive in communicating new product timeframes and providing unique technologies or features?

To calculate the vendor score, sum the individual scores from each section. The maximum possible score is 16. Convert this total into a percentage to get the final vendor score:
