Dr. Kalyan Das: A Letter to My Engineering CS Professor
Dr. Kalyan Das is a Professor of Computer Science guiding students in Theory of Computation Paper & later on taking the additional charges of handling the Aryabhatta Hall of Residence, the Senior boys' hostel of the SUIIT campus.
That's where I got the chance to observe him from the close quarters.
Dear Sir,
With due respect, I wish you a very happy teachers’ day. I feel honored to be in your class as a student of Computer Science Engineering & also having the previlege to be personally mentored by you.
When I had visited SUIIT for the first time with my parents even before taking the admission, the very first person we had met here was you. Way back then I had no idea that, I’m gonna work in some important projects in a very close association with you.
Well, fast forwarding from that moment, I get the opportunity to interact personally with you earlier this year when you had assigned me with the task to draw some figures on adobe illustrator tool to be used in a research paper. I enjoyed doing these for you.
Then I was provided some papers by you to conduct literature analysis of them by scanning the abstracts of them to arrive at a meaningful output. It was a new & truly challenging experience for me way back then, but your empathetic guidance helped me out in getting those things done.
With due course of time, out bonding has evolved to a next level. I got the chance to become an active contributor in your PhD research project on cloud computing. We’ve invested last ~1.5 Months over this, and thanks to your consistent guidance, I’ve been able to tackle through this new “Difficult” task assigned to me.
You’ve always given me the freedom to pursue my works. Together we could carry on this collaboration… Research work or GATE Exams are just the beginning of it!
Thank you for visiting our hostel rooms regularly & guiding us through the challenges in academics or otherwise. Your humble and positive vibes radiated during your presence.
I’d consider it a fortune, If I could come in any sort of help to you ever in my life. I’ll do my best to act upon the responsbilities given upon me.
I extend my best wishes, Sir!
With Respect,
Sourav
