🌎 Overview
The Lilypad Network orchestrates idle GPU compute capacity to provide a serverless, job based service model for end-users. Compute jobs, such as AI Inference, running on the network are matched with GPU capacity. A hashed proof of the job completion is saved on-chain using the Arbitrum L2 blockchain.
Bacalhau, an open source architecture, is used to orchestrate the Lilypad Solver and other components of the core network infrastructure. Lilypad uses Bacalhau as it provides fast, cost efficient, and secure computation by running jobs where the data is generated and stored.
The network brings together the exponentially rising user demand for compute services and hardware with compute providers who can add new revenue streams and optimized efficiency to their hardware business. By leveraging peer to peer networking and crypto-economic incentives, the Lilypad Network performs off-chain decentralized compute over data, with on-chain verification.
The Lilypad Incentivized Testnet has grown rapidly with hundreds of new nodes coming online in the last few weeks! Resource Providers (GPUs) are rewarded with Lilybit rewards for contributing compute to the network. IncentiveNet presents a unique opportunity to lay the groundwork of core compute infrastructure crucial for the viability of open, decentralized AI and to challenge the dominance of cloud oligopolies.

⚒️ Engineering Update
Scaling IncentiveNet
As the total count of Resource Providers (RPs) on the network reaches over 1000 nodes, our team continues to scale the Lilypad core infrastructure. The Testnet continues to provide a foundation for stress-testing every aspect of the network economy, monitoring/troubleshooting systems, token economics, and more.
Our team is working on a big push to optimize the PoW mechanism used to verify RP capacity. RPs run PoWs throughout the day to provide verification of GPU uptime and hashrate. This info is used to calculate the Lilybits_ rewards earned by each RP.
The Lilypad Network Resource Provider Leaderboard provides an overview of RP capacity on the network as well as points earned by each address! A Resource Provider’s power is calculated by the total hashrate reported to the network. RPs can use the node status dashboard to view the last PoW submitted by the wallet ID.

Telemetry - the lifecycle of a Lilypad job
In the next week, a network update will be released adding traces to Lilypad jobs. Telemetry data will be collected when a job runs that collects information on the various stages of running a job. This telemetry system helps collect info to assist RPs debug issues. Visibility into simple mechanisms such as time and consistency of job acceptance by a RP provides valuable insight into potential network optimizations.

🖥️ Tokenomics
Feedback from the community and learnings from the first stage of the IncentiveNet have been key sources for the Lilypad Whitepaper. The network economic model including job pricing, RP game theory, and anti-sybil measures continue to be finalized as we grow into mainnet launch.
A huge thanks to the community for feedback on the RP experience, the Lilypad slashing mechanism, and other parts of the economy. Our team will incorporate this feedback into upcoming changes to the slashing mechanism as well as future economic decisions on mainnet.

A comprehensive Contribution Guide will be released next week (some have already found the guide!) for open source contributions to the main Lilypad repo. We have made some headway with running a Lilypad RP with WSL, but support for this work currently will come from the community. Shout out to Lilypad Ambassador, Kabularasa, for contributing a list of tools to help run a RP!
