How to Setup a NetSuite Bank Feed with Yodlee
I do not recommend using NetSuite's default connector Yodlee as it breaks often. You can view additional options here.
Navigate to 'Setup > Accounting > Financial Institution > List' to see a list of existing financial institutions. Check 'Show Inactives' to ensure you are not creating a duplicate institution.
Click 'New Financial Institution,' enter the name of the bank, and click 'Save.'
Upon saving, navigate to the 'Format Profile: Configuration' subtab on the financial institution record. Click 'Add' to create a new Format Profile. You must be in view mode to see the 'Add' button--edit mode will hide this button.
Select the following settings:
Field | Value |
'Profile Name' | Your bank's name |
'Profile Type' | 'Bank Reconciliation' |
'Connectivity Method' | 'Connectivity Method' |
'Transaction Parser' | 'US and CA Bank Feeds Parser' |
Once every field is filled in, click 'Connect New Institution' on the 'Connectivity Configuration' subtab.
Select your bank in the pop-up window, sign into your bank with your credentials, and complete the 2-factor authentication process.
Very Important Troubleshooting Note
The Yodlee connector does not handle 2FA connections very well. There is a high chance the attempt to connect will timeout. Retry and eventually it will work. However, it can sometimes take days or weeks to establish (or reestablish) the connection. Please see my other articles in this series for alternatives.Once the connection has been established, navigate to the 'Account Linking' subtab. Map each connected bank account to a general ledger account. Click 'Save' once completed.
Navigate to 'Transactions > Bank > Match Bank Data' and select one of the linked accounts under the 'Account' dropdown.
Click 'Update Imported Bank Data.' You can navigate to 'Banking Import History' to see the progress of the import.
Once the import succeeds, match, review, and exclude the transactions as needed.
