Discovering Slow Horses: A Late but Enthusiastic Fan's Take

Despite the overwhelming volume of TV content available today, I've only recently joined the fanbase of Slow Horses, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience.
My reluctance to dive into new streaming platforms like Apple TV+ led me to miss out on this critically acclaimed show. However, the buzz around Slow Horses and its stellar reviews finally convinced me to give it a try—and I’m glad I did.
The standout element is Gary Oldman's performance as Jackson Lamb, a disillusioned spy leading a group of demoted agents. His portrayal is both brilliant and humorous, particularly in a memorable scene where he sings along to the Proclaimers at gunpoint. Oldman’s performance alone is worth the watch.
The rest of the cast, including Jack Lowden and Rosalind Eleazar, delivers exceptional performances as well, with Saskia Reeves standing out for her deeply immersive role. Although the second season had some issues, including an odd tone and a less cohesive narrative, the show quickly regained its momentum with seasons three and four.
With more seasons planned and a strong showrunner in Will Smith, Slow Horses promises to continue delivering. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t wait as long as I did to discover this outstanding series.
