United Hacks V3 - Recap
United Hacks V3 hackathon concluded with immense success, further demonstrating the power of technology to address real-world challenges. This year, the event saw significant engagement, with 1000+ members on Discord, 150+ participants, and 50+ attendees throughout the workshops conducted. Throughout the hackathon, participants worked relentlessly, producing over 25 beautiful projects, even when receiving lots of support tickets. .
The judging panel evaluated each project based on creativity and the way it addressed the prompt. After careful thought, they awarded top projects across different categories:
Best Solo Hack: GameRecommend AI by Joseph J Helfen
Joseph developed an AI-driven recommendation system that suggests games based on the user’s preferences. analyzing user behavior and offering personalized game suggestions. It has basic utility and creativity in helping users discover new experiences for their interests. Despite working alone, Joseph showcased strong AI development skills, turning this solo project into a winning one.
Second Place (General Track): Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Detector by Chaitanya Garg
Chaitanya tackled a significant real-world problem in the healthcare space by developing a tool that aids in the early detection of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). This project is significant and bold in its potential to take on a real world issue, and the project showed how AI and healthcare can come together to make a meaningful impact on society.
First Place (General Track): Mindful Bites by Venkat Subodh Kakarla, Siddharth Santhosh, Arjun Pendharkar, and Prahaas Nukala
The top award in the general track went to Mindful Bites, an app that blends mental health and nutrition. The team developed a platform where users can plan and prepare meals while focusing on their mental well-being. By fusing two important aspects of daily life—nutrition and mental health—Mindful Bites showcases how technology can benefit towards healthier lifestyles.
Second Place (Theme Track): Poo Pals by Bryan Bergo, Tin Pham, and Andres Ruiz
The theme of this year's hackathon was to create a project that relieves a minor inconvenience. Poo Pals brought humor and creativity together. The creativity and lightheartedness of Poo Pals earned it second place in the theme track, showing that even small, fun ideas can make a big impact.
First Place (Theme Track): DJ3000 by Priansh Mittra, Sebastian Alexis, and Andrew Zhang
This project stole the show in the theme track with its amazing pitch video and inventive solution. The team's effective use of technology and sharp presentation skills earned them first place, especially on a topic as widespread and relatable as music.
The United Hacks V3 hackathon not only celebrated winners but also acknowledged every participant's dedication. From sleepless nights to solving bugs, the passion of each coder were the true winners of the event.
