Exodus - the transitioning
I can be highly indecisive when it comes to choosing what to eat—it's my Achilles' heel. I’ve found myself staring at the supermarket snack aisles for minutes, trying to decide what to pick—cons of too many options. As a result, I tend to overthink and take my time before making decisions, ensuring that I can take full accountability. This doesn't mean I'll always make the perfect choice (I’m rarely at 100%), but I do make the best custom lemonades from the choices I get.
Getting started is always tough—very tough. I've been a Cybersecurity Engineer since December 2022, and before that, a script kiddie when ethical hacking first piqued my interest in university. Professionally, I wear at least two hats in the security field: GRC Analyst, and Penetration Tester with the occasion SOC. I love every part of it, no matter how daunting, as it keeps me constantly on my toes. Tech life has taught me that staying relevant and thriving means continuously reinventing yourself and avoiding complacency.
Sorry if I’ve bored you so far—this has all been a lead-up to say…
Allow me to reintroduce myself. I'm Michael, and I've recently transitioned into DevOps, with the destination: DevSecOps/Cloud Security Engineer. I guess security really is my thing after all. Fortunately, I’m making this transition as I embark on my tech blogging journey. Thanks to the bootcamp I paid for that teaches with real-world projects, building up resumes from junior to senior level depending on your cohort, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many cool and challenging projects, which I’ll be documenting here. You’ll be seeing more of me—I hope to stay consistent.
