How to Learn Like Sherlock 2

INTRO
This post is the continuation of our “LEARNING LIKE SHERLOCK” series. If you have not read the previous post I request you to do so. So as we learnt in the previous post there are three important questions to consider while learning something new or even refining your understanding of the concepts you have learnt previously. Those questions are “WHAT is it that I am learning?”, and “HOW does this thing work?”, “WHY does this thing work?”. Looking superficially these questions look trivial but when used diligently these can greatly influence how you learn. In this post, we will learn how to improve the system we have built previously (read part 1) and add some new elements to it so that we can increase the efficiency of the system giving us more results and better ways of looking at things.
CONNECT WITH THE PREVIOUS TOPICS
As soon as you have understood the topic now it is time to connect the topic to the topics which you have learnt previously. This will enhance your knowledge regarding the newly learnt topic and also the things you have learnt previously. You should also try to connect newly learnt things with the things that seem unrelated, this will greatly enhance your knowledge.
CONNECT WITH THE FUTURE APPLICATIONS
Connecting with the future means asking yourself how this thing relates to where it is applied. For example, if you learn something about strings then try to ask yourself where you will be applying this concept in the future. This method of accounting for future possibilities without even looking at them will enhance creative thinking. It may also become possible that you might predict some topics beforehand and how a particular thing might connect to the other without even studying about it.
LOOK AT THE THING FROM DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES
When you have learnt a thing your task is now to see the same thing under the light of several different subjects. You will try to see how the thing that you have learnt relates to a particular topic that you have learnt previously and how it can be broken down in the form of other topics that you have learnt previously and never thought about.
OUTRO
This was all about for this post. I hope you will update the system you know from the first part. Now we have a decent process that takes you to the “Analysis” level in Bloom’s Taxonomy, which is great. I hope I was able to provide you with some value in your life. Thanks for reading!
