AWS Outage : Cloud Vulnerability

Impacted Services: Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), Elastic Container Services and other services that were dependent on ELB.

Root Cause: A change in network configuration caused accumulation of registration and de-registration events for load balancers in ELB. This further affected processing of new requests.

Impact: Application and services that were depended on ECS and ELB in the US-EAST-1 region experienced disruptions, such as:

• Increase timeouts

• Error connecting to services

• Reduced availability or complete unavailability
