1. Social Media Quit

This week marked a significant turning point in my learning journey: I quit social media—specifically, Instagram. For the past few weeks, I had been posting daily reels to document my journey. While it felt like I was staying consistent, I realized it wasn’t serving my main goal: learning to code and acquiring new skills as efficiently as possible.

Why I Quit Instagram

In my beginner phase, my focus should be on understanding and mastering core concepts. But creating and uploading daily reels was consuming 2-3 hours every day. It impacted my sleep quality and hindered my productivity in other areas like college and personal development. I wasn’t adding value or sharing meaningful content—just trying to document the journey. My time was better spent elsewhere.

Currently, I’m not a content creator, nor am I interested in creating just for attention. This phase of my life is about gaining knowledge and experience in tech. When the time comes, and I have valuable skills and experiences to share, I’ll consider proper content creation.

For now, I’ve switched to Twitter for updates, where I only need to share a few lines to stay accountable and connected with the community. Follow me here for more updates!

2. I Started Learning Java

With Instagram out of the picture, I turned my attention to learning Java. I was uncertain for a while about which language to start with, but I realized Python wasn’t sparking my interest. Due to the distractions of social media, my learning was off-track. Now I’m beginning again with Java, aiming to master it thoroughly. I plan to dive deep, understanding the language inside-out, and applying every concept I learn through small projects.

The thrill of creating something from scratch with my newfound knowledge excites me. My approach is simple: Learn. Practice. Build. This month, I’ll focus entirely on Java’s core concepts. By the end of October, I aim to start my journey with Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).

Final Thoughts

To all beginners: stop wasting time watching countless videos on YouTube or Instagram like “How to Start?” or “What’s the Best Path?” These videos often delay you from taking action. Just pick something, start coding, and stick to it. Whether it’s solving problems on LeetCode, building projects, or mastering a language, consistency is the key.

I’ll keep sharing my experiences and lessons learned here. Keep coding and keep pushing yourself every day.
