Perplexity Integrates O1 Model with New 10-Messages-a-Day Threshold
The O1 model has found its way into Perplexity, granting users the ability to dispatch a maximum of 10 inquiries per day.
In a recent move, OpenAI has escalated the usage limits for the O1 series, encompassing the O1 mini variant. This revision empowers users to initiate up to 50 interactions daily, a significant shift from the earlier weekly constraint. Furthermore, anecdotal feedback from users suggests that the O1 mini option is surfacing in their selection menus, hinting at its potential release to the broader, non-paying public.
For those not yet in the loop, O1 boasts heightened reasoning prowess and stands as the foremost cutting-edge model currently available.
Moreover, it has been observed that the knowledge cutoff for the 4o model now extends to September 2024. This extension, sporadically revealed to users and corroborated by OpenAI personnel, confirms that the enhanced model was already accessible for preliminary testing within the Lmsys Arena.
In a parallel vein, Perplexity has begun testing O1 in a beta phase with stringent message restrictions, capping users at 10 exchanges per day. It emerges as a distinct "focus mode," though currently lacking integrated search functionality.
