Hello World
Hi, I’m Greg. I’ve been finding articles on this site for a few years now and finally decided to sign up. I’m a software dev working on some spaced repetition apps currently. A library popped up somewhat recently, https://github.com/open-spaced-repetition/fsrs4anki, which implements a new approach for a spaced repetition algorithm. Finding this was great news for me, as I have been wanting to implement my own version of anki for a number of years now. It’s funny because a “flashcard app” seems like it should be the most trivial thing to implement. You’d be surprised. The docs alone for anki would take you days just to read through. The amount of configuration of different behavior and implementing it in code is a total nightmare. But I’m making progress and want to share what I’m learning. My goal is to put the app up on https://www.practiceproblems.org, a site that catalogues STEM problems found on youtube and across the internet.
