FoodTraze at CII FoodPro 2024: The Highlights
Introduction
After three years of dedicated development, we were excited to introduce FoodTraze — our groundbreaking blockchain-based open-source solution for food traceability. Our mission is to empower consumers with the confidence and trust they deserve in their food choices, especially with organic produce.
FoodTraze guarantees that every bite you take comes from a source you can trust. We’re committed to continually expanding our network to include more organic farms, enhancing transparency and traceability throughout the entire food journey.
Opportunity
FoodPro 2024, hosted at the Chennai Trade Center, served as a prime venue for showcasing innovations in the food industry. FoodTraze was excited to be part of this event, where we engaged with a diverse audience and highlighted our blockchain-based solution for enhancing food traceability. Here’s a detailed recap of our participation and key interactions at the event.
Engaging Conversations and Insights
One of the standout moments at our stall was a conversation with a visitor who inquired, “How do you confirm if a farm is truly organic, considering it takes 3 to 4 years to certify one as organic?”
We explained how FoodTraze ensures transparency and verifies organic certification. Organic farms undergo a rigorous transformation process that includes transitioning to natural practices, avoiding synthetic inputs, and regular soil testing. With FoodTraze, these certification details are securely recorded in our blockchain system. Consumers can access comprehensive certification details, including lab results, by scanning a QR code on the product, providing confidence in the authenticity of their food.
Archana Stalin’s Visit
We were honoured to have Archana Stalin, founder of “myHarvest,” visit our stall. Archana, a passionate advocate for natural farming, shared her insights and experiences in organic farming and expressed appreciation for FoodTraze’s efforts in promoting food transparency. She had a productive discussion with our team about the potential impact of our technology on organic farming.
Archana expressed interest in exploring how FoodTraze could be integrated into her network of multiple farms. Her engagement underscores the growing recognition of blockchain technology’s role in enhancing food traceability and transparency.
Exploring Blockchain for Enhanced Shrimp Export Traceability
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Dinesh Kumar V K, who is actively involved in FMCG sales and distribution and new product development. During his visit, he explored the potential of FoodTraze’s blockchain traceability solution for their shrimp export operations. Dinesh recognized how our technology could enhance transparency and trackability in the shrimp supply chain, offering a robust solution to meet industry demands and build greater trust with consumers. He also requested a live demo of our solution in their setup to further evaluate its integration potential.
Live Demo: 30-Day Observation of Green Leafy Organic Produce
A major highlight of our participation at FoodPro 2024 was the live demo of a 30-day observation of green leafy organic produce. From the Planting Stage to harvesting, we meticulously recorded and showcased every step of the process as a use case for FoodTraze.
The demo included:
· Planning and Planting: Demonstrating how we tracked the planning and planting stages of the green leafy produce.
· Growth Monitoring: Recording key events and growth parameters throughout the 30 days.
· Harvesting: Highlighting how FoodTraze’s technology was used to monitor and document the harvesting process.
This live demonstration provided attendees with a real-world example of how FoodTraze’s blockchain-based system can enhance transparency and traceability in organic farming.
