Unix:

Developed mainly for servers, workstations

Linux:

It is an open-source operating system
Linux is used everywhere from servers, PC, smartphones, and tablets to mainframes
Linux is command-based but some distros provide GUI-based Linux.
The default interface is BASH (Bourne Again SHell). But some distros have developed their own interfaces.
Linux has several distributions that are highly customizable.
Linux is written in assembly language and C.
Linux OS is more secure by providing authorization, authentication, encryption
Linux is distributed under the GPL(GNU General Public License) license.
Linux is a clone of Unix with different code

Windows:

Windows have fewer options to customize.
Windows also have a command line, but it is not such effective as Linux
Windows is written in C++ and assembly language.
Windows provides good support to its users. It provides free as well as paid support.
Windows updates can be frequent and sometimes disruptive
Windows is most vulnerable without anti-virus.
Windows is distributed under a Proprietary commercial software license.
