Quira.sh - Quest 021: October Mega Quest
Quira? Don’t you mean Quora?
Nope. I thought that, too. Quira is one of the sponsors for Hacktoberfest 2024. Their platform is unique - they prepare quests for developers to complete quests on GitHub. A winner is chosen from the submissions, and they receive a pre-determined payout along with some cool swag.
Participating in Quira doesn’t just offer recognition for your work, it also helps you develop new skills. The quests often focus on building GenAI apps and dev tools. They post “solver quests” based on requirements from top open-source projects, with rewards for a winner selected from the submissions.
Getting started with Quira is easy! Just head to Quira.sh and sign in with your GitHub account. You will land on the “Create” page, where you can browse from a list of quests. From there, you “check in” and “explore” the quest details. You’ll be able to view all submissions and head to the “details” tab for in-depth information on that specific quest. Once you’ve completed your quest, you can submit it directly on the platform.
If you’re curious about payment, Quira uses Tremendous to handle their payouts. You can choose from Venmo, Paypal, or ACH as your payment method after winning a quest (depending on what is available in your country).
I‘ll keep you updated on my own experience with Quira. I haven’t completed a quest yet, but I plan to start my first one right after posting this article! I hope this post helps others find a cool project to contribute to for Hacktoberfest. If you’re interested, you can sign up here. Don’t forget to join the Discord communities for Hacktoberfest and Quira. Let me know in the comments if you have already participated in any of Quira’s quests, I’d love to hear about your experience. Happy hacking.

I have an associate of arts in Networking and a bachelor of science degree in Network Security, but I found a lot of side jobs in web/software development that I really enjoyed. Now, I'm a full-stack software/web developer with strong proficiency in Javascript and the PERN stack. I'm having fun working on a side project at the moment, but am open to new opportunities. I'm here for learning, sharing resources, and being a part of the developer community. I'm going to share what I'm working on, my resources, and what I'm learning here. What are you working on?
