I’m Empowered by Women!
On a day like International🌸Women’s Day, it's a time of reflection for the so-called "esteemed!" masculine community, many of whom have let their ego and desire disrupt the balance⚖️ of the society.
I’d try to imagine the world from a woman's perspective, stepping into her shoes for a moment.
Though I may occasionally appear biased, often supporting women or lightening the mood with jokes at college 🎓, my core belief is rooted in equality. 💪
I am driven by an inner ideology that urges me to treat women with the same respect and fairness I extend to men, whether in the workplace 🏢 or any other setting. Anyone can bring talent to the table—gender has nothing to do with it.
While I might hesitate to give up my seat for a strong woman on a bus 🚌, it feels instinctive to make sure my female friends get back to their hostel safely in the evening 🌙, even if they never ask for it.
For me, their safety matters far more in the long run than any clever remarks I might make in the moment. So, it didn’t surprise me when I learned that my parents had hoped for a baby girl at the time of my birth!
Looking back, I cringe at the insensitive jokes I made toward a few female friends during the early days of engineering.🤦♂️
It took a long journey to fully grasp how valuable it is to respect women, their dignity and their privacy. 👩🔧 And who exemplifies that better than King Khan himself! 👑🎬
Reporter: Have women played a very important role in your life, do you think?
Shah Rukh Khan:
Actually... how do I say this without sounding wrong? Um, I don't spend time in the company of men! I'm sorry, gentlemen, but, you know.
They have the courage, the bravery, the strength to realize that, “You know what? This is how it's going right now. I do work harder than Shahrukh. I am better than Shahrukh!”
And I include my wife in it, my daughter, my sister and all the girls I work with.
Often I've been teased by my batchmates for walking to the canteen with two or three close female friends. They view me differently, with their narrow perspective, missing out on the value of those bonds.
What they fail to see is that it's respect🤝 that attracts genuine connections.
I may not always bring chocolates 🍫 on special occasions, but when I need to share something meaningful or difficult, it's the phone numbers of a few caring women that I instinctively turn to.
Who says women need empowerment!? 👩⚖️ In fact, I feel empowered in their presence, whether it’s spending time with close friends or simply being near my 👩👦mother. We men should never forget that it’s a woman who brought us into this world. 🌍👑
There are a few trusted companions who always keep me on track when I drift off in my work. 🛤️ They've taught me the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries that strengthen the foundation of true friendship. 🌿 It's shaped my character in deeply meaningful ways. 🛠️
It still hurts when some girls feel insecure about their appearance with the society's narrow definitions of beauty. 💔
But let me reassure them—no matter what the world believes, it's a person with a golden character who truly leads the way.
When I find peace within 🌸 and reflect on the people who’ve guided me toward a fulfilling life, a few women always come to mind. 💫
