Little House off the Freeway (Graduating!)

According to The Eastsider, Silverlake and Echo Park have an ongoing problem with car crashes.

As the 2 Freeway ends, it dumps vehicles onto Glendale Boulevard. I can personally attest to the fact that many drivers simply do not slow down enough as the freeway transitions to a street.

Several blocks south of the freeway's end, there's a house that was abated three years ago - almost to the day (6/30/20). 1627 North Glendale Boulevard was listed and sold in 2021 as a derelict 1916 Craftsman bungalow with a billboard on the property.

I pulled up the old sale listing to write this entry and discovered that the property has since undergone extensive repairs and is now available to rent, beginning in August.

I am thrilled to see this home coming back to life, and it will graduate from the map once it's rented. If you are interested in living there, here's the listing.

Having said that, I would like to helpfully suggest that future residents park on the property instead of on Glendale Boulevard, for their vehicle's sake. The listing photos show a nice new fence that should help keep other people's cars out.

1627 North Glendale Boulevard, Echo Park.
