10th Board Story
I was in 10th grade, preparing for my board exams. If youāre not familiar, board exams are among the most significant assessments in a studentās life, serving as a crucial deciding factor for oneās future career path.
A few days before the exam timetable was released by the state board, I expected the school to provide us with the timetable and assist in our exam planning, as they had done for every other exam, big or small. However, this time was different. We were required to download the exam schedule as a PDF from the internet ā a fact I was unaware of since it hadnāt been communicated by our teachers.
A classmate of mine brought the timetable to class, and I felt a surge of excitement and relief as I started noting down the timetable in my notebook. However, before I could finish, we were all called into the next room for hall ticket distribution. In the chaos, my classmate snatched the timetable and headed to the other room. I noticed that only two exam dates were missing, but I thought I would get the details later and proceeded to collect my hall ticket. While sitting with my best friend, I asked him for the dates of the last two exams. He thought a bit and shared the details, and I quickly noted it down.
Dark day
Iāll never forget that day ā it was a sweltering summer morning, thatās etched into my memory forever. It completely changed my life and transformed my thought process. I woke up late that day with a throbbing headache. After taking a shower, I settled in front of the TV to watch a cricket match. In the afternoon, I received a call, and when I heard āYou had a exam today why you didāt appearā, I felt completely blank and terrified. It felt as if my world had collapsed, and I was overwhelmed with despair. The weight of it all left me in deep pain.
According to my timetable, it was supposed to be a holiday, but in reality, I had an exam that day. I realized I had made a terrible mistake. My friend had unintentionally given me the wrong dates, and I hadnāt double-checked either. I ignored all the signs because I was so focused on the cricket match. The thought of failing this year and having to repeat 10th grade consumed me because there was no re-exam for boards. When the news spread, everyone was in shock! Some offered their sympathy, while others couldnāt help but laugh at my misfortune.
Fortunately, my parents were incredibly supportive. They provided me with the strength and hope I needed, assuring me that everything would turn out just fine. Their unwavering belief in my potential motivated me to push through the tough times and strive for success. Knowing I had their backing made all the difference as I navigated the challenges ahead.
Result day
After two months, the results were finally released. Those months had been stressful and humiliating, but when I saw the results, I felt like I was on top of the world. I had passed with good grades, scoring 67%. I couldnāt help but wonder how this miracle had happened. It turned out that some papers had combined marking, and the exam I had missed was also a combined paper. Fortunately, I scored nearly full marks on the other paper, which ultimately helped me pass.
This incident transformed my personality; I became more responsible, refrained from watching cricket, and games. Shifted my focus entirely to my career.
Life After Board
After the incident, I never looked back. I completed my graduation with high grades and secured a good job at an MNC. Today, I am thriving in my career and continue to strive for excellence. Every step of the way, I have embraced challenges as opportunities for growth, learning valuable lessons that have shaped who I am today. The purpose of this blog is to remind you that no matter how challenging life may be, you should never give up.
