๐ Day 2: AWS Project - Windows OS Deployment, IIS Installation, and Website Hosting
Step-by-step
I'm thrilled to share my recent hands-on experience working with AWS! In this project, I deployed a Windows OS instance on AWS EC2 and set up web hosting using Internet Information Services (IIS). Here's a breakdown of the key steps:
Key Highlights:
๐น Windows OS Deployment: Set up a Windows instance on EC2 and connected via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), allowing smooth access to the server.
๐น IIS Installation & Custom Website: Installed IIS to enable web hosting capabilities and replaced the default page with my own custom website.
๐น Elastic IP Configuration: Ensured persistent access to the server by configuring an Elastic IP, making it easier to maintain the server address.
๐น Security Best Practices: Managed security groups and key pairs to ensure a secure connection.
๐น AWS EC2 Management: Gained valuable experience in managing the lifecycle of AWS EC2 instances, including starting, stopping, and monitoring server performance.
What I Learned:
This project helped me solidify my understanding of deploying and managing web servers in a cloud environment, specifically on Windows. I was able to practice key skills in cloud infrastructure management, security, and web hosting using AWS. Looking forward to exploring more cloud-based solutions!
