The Blighted Burger Stand Burned...Again

Well, $#@&.

One week ago, I shared the story of the former Tom's Burgers, empty since 2012 and plagued by destructive, potentially dangerous squatters. For the whole story, check out The Boyle Heights Beat.

KTLA reports that it caught on fire this morning. The story reports that it had been the site of "a" previous fire (The Boyle Heights Beat states that LAFD put out FOUR previous fires, not including smaller ones extinguished by neighbors).

LAFD stated that the fire was out in 13 minutes. Which, at least, means it likely didn't have much of a chance to spread. However, the wording of the article suggests it's still standing, damage and all.

What, precisely, will it take for the city to deal with 320 South Soto Street properly? For as long as it's sitting empty, it's a safety hazard to Boyle Heights residents. And as I previously mentioned, children walk past this building to attend elementary, middle, and high schools. Won't someone think of the Eastside's children?
