→Networking is everywhere.

→Networks support the way we learn.

→Networks support the way we comunicate.

→Networks support the way we work.

→Networks support the way we play.

  • Security is very important not only in real life even in computer network too.

Computer Network:

  • A Computer network is a set of nodes connected by communication links.

→ Here node is defined as it can be a computer, printer or any other device capable of sending/receiving data generated by other nodes in the network.

Examples:Computer,Server,Printer,Security camera,Router,etc,.

→Communication Links can be a wired link or wireless link.

  • Wired links : Wired communication links uses cables.

  • Wireless links:Wireless communication links uses air.

→A Computer network is mainly used for resource sharing.

In the above figure we can observe the end nodes and intermediary nodes.

End nodes:The nodes which are the source or destination in the communication are called as end nodes.

  • In the above figure the end nodes are Printer,Laptop,Tablet,Mobile Phone,Server, etc,.

Intermediary nodes:The devices which forwards the data from one side to another side are called as intermediary nodes.

  • In the above figure the intermediary nodes are Switch,Cell Tower,Router,Cloud,Modem.
