Componets of Computer Network

Any computer network has free components like

• Nodes

• Media

• Services

1.Nodes

→A can be capable of sending/receiving data generated by other nodes in the network.

→As we know that nodes are two types .

→They are :

1. End nodes

2. Intermediary nodes

* End nodes: End nodes are the nodes that is going to be the starting point in communication or the end point in the communication.

If two devices wants to communicate with eachother, the device which initiates this communication is an end device and the device which accepts the communication at the final stage is an end device ,And these two end devices are going to communicate with eachother with the help of some intermediary devices.

* Intermediary nodes: Intermediary nodes are the nodes that just forward the data from one node to another.And they are going to place between the end nodes.

2.Media

→Media is also called as a link.

→The link is going to carry the data from one side to other.This link can be a wired or wireless medium.

*Wired medium also known as Guided medium.

*Wireless medium also known as Unguided medium.

Examples for wired medium are :

1.Ethernet cable

2.Fiber optic cable

3.coaxial cable

4.USB cable

Examples for wired medium are:

1.Infrared

2.Radio

3.Micro waves

4.Satellite
