Phase 4 Wrap-Up: A Team Project to Remember
Phase 4 was all about new challenges and exciting wins. This time, I got to work with a team, and I absolutely loved the experience. We built a Gaming Tournament App called GameVerse that lets users create, browse, and sign up for tournaments. It was a great introduction to collaborating on a project, and I can’t wait to do more of this in the future.
Technical Wins on the Backend
For my part, I focused on the backend, working with Python, Flask, and SQLAlchemy to handle all the data management. Here are some of the key things I worked on:
Database Models: I set up relationships between users and tournaments, making it easy to track who signed up for what.
CRUD Routes: I handled the routes for creating, updating, and deleting tournaments, making sure everything ran smoothly between the backend and frontend.
Validation Logic: I made sure users couldn’t sign up for the same tournament twice and added error messages to make the experience clearer.
Shoutout to Kevin
Kevin did an amazing job on the frontend. He took charge of designing the tournament pages, making sure everything looked and felt just right. His work brought the app to life, and it was so cool to see my backend logic connect with his frontend magic. I’m really proud of the work we did together—it was a great reminder that teamwork makes all the difference.
The Final Stretch
It’s hard to believe, but I’ve just finished my last assessment of the program!!! The final phase starts on Monday, and graduation is set for November 15. It feels like everything has gone by so fast. I’m excited to wrap things up and give this last phase my all!
Looking Ahead
This project was a perfect way to see how much I enjoy working on a team. I loved the problem-solving, the collaboration, and the process of building something together. I’m really looking forward to more opportunities like this—there’s something special about sharing the wins and working through the challenges with a group.
Thanks for following along. On to the final phase!
