WTF, Winnetka?

A house under construction in Winnetka caught on fire the other night.

The fire spread to two neighboring houses. One of them had to be red-tagged, displacing the family living there.

LAFD says the fire was at 7950 Laramie Avenue. ZIMAS and Google Maps both say that address doesn’t exist.

Argh.

So I started checking other addresses on that block. Not a single one had any code enforcement issues on file in ZIMAS. Which is weird, since a new code enforcement complaint usually goes on file right after a fire.

I’m planning on calling LAFD’s non-emergency line to ask about this.

Just last week, an abandoned home on Parthenia Street caught on fire. Rather than rehash the DOZEN complaints on file (all from the past five months), I’ve screenshotted them above. Note that the only one not “closed” is about unpermitted construction.

What’s wrong with this picture?
