From Code to CRM: Building My Dream WhatsApp Tool

Introduction

With nearly 20 years of software development experience across multiple companies in the UK, USA, Latin America, Japan, and Korea, I've always dreamed of creating my own software products. Despite having the necessary skills, time was always a constraint - until now.

Previous Startup Experience

In 2021, I attempted to launch a trading analysis startup called DivergenceAI. The platform was designed to allow traders from various exchanges like Binance and KuCoin to connect their accounts and receive detailed performance analytics through reports and visualizations. After spending six months developing this product, I realized I had made several crucial mistakes, particularly from a startup perspective. I was so focused on the technical aspects that I failed to validate the idea first. The end result was a platform that nobody wanted to use.

A New Beginning in 2024

After that experience, I stepped back from entrepreneurship until 2024. The inspiration for my current project came from an unexpected source - house hunting. While researching living costs in different areas, I found myself overwhelmed managing conversations with multiple real estate agents. I was missing appointments, losing track of conversations, and missing out on good opportunities simply due to poor chat management.

Through conversations with friends, I discovered this was a common problem. While there are existing solutions like Kommo, they often offer more features than necessary. I wanted something more practical and focused.

The Birth of a New CRM

This realization led me to create mockups for a streamlined CRM solution that addresses these specific challenges, along with other pain points I discovered during my research.

Here's the main screen of the CRM I'm developing:

15+ years of experience having fun building apps with .NET I began my professional career in 2006, using Microsoft technologies where C# and Windows Forms and WPF were the first technologies I started working with during that time. I had the opportunity to actively participate in the Windows ecosystem as an MVP and Windows 8/Windows Phone application developer from 2013-2018. Throughout my career, I have used Azure as my default cloud platform and have primarily worked with technologies like ASP.NET Core for multiple companies globally across the US, UK, Korea, Japan, and Latin America. I have extensive experience with frameworks such as: ASP.NET Core Microsoft Orleans WPF UWP React with TypeScript Reactive Extensions Blazor I am an entrepreneur, speaker, and love traveling the world. I created this blog to share my experience with new generations and to publish all the technical resources that I had been writing privately, now made public as a contribution to enrich the ecosystem in which I have developed my career.
