Announcing Updated Pangea Extension for GitHub Copilot: Powering Secure Development Together

It’s been a few months since Microsoft Build 2024 where one of the highlights was the launch of the Pangea extension for GitHub Copilot. Pangea was able to interface with Copilot Chat, bringing security into the development environment.

Developers asked how to implement specific security features and the Pangea extension returned a concise description of the relevant Pangea services and link to product documentation if further detail was requested. The Pangea extension also provided code samples that developers could use as a reference to further accelerate implementation.

For GitHub Universe 2024, we took our Copilot extension even further. From within VS Code’s Copilot Chat, the Developers can expect the Pangea extension to:

• Supply code samples for developers for services like redaction, authentication, and secure audit logging

• Create a free Pangea account and initialize the required services

• Return the token to access the newly initialized services within the application

• Link to documentation for further description

Enhancing CI/CD Pipelines with the Pangea GitHub Actions

Automate security checks and processes within GitHub workflows with Pangea’s GitHub Action. These actions seamlessly integrate Pangea’s suite of security services into GitHub’s continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring that security is never an afterthought.
