Project Background

The Urban Challenge

Indian cities face unique challenges with stray cattle, including:

  1. Traffic Safety Issues

    • Increased accident risks during peak hours

    • Unexpected road blockages

    • Night-time visibility concerns

  2. Public Health Concerns

    • Sanitation issues in urban areas

    • Disease transmission risks

    • Food safety concerns near markets

  3. Resource Management Challenges

    • Manual monitoring inefficiencies

    • Delayed response times

    • Strain on municipal resources

Project Objectives

  1. Primary Goals

    • Develop an automated cattle detection system

    • Enable real-time monitoring through existing infrastructure

    • Create a scalable and maintainable solution

  2. Technical Objectives

    • Achieve >90% detection accuracy

    • Process video feeds in real-time (25+ FPS)

    • Track timestamps of the detected

    • Minimize false positives

    • Create an intuitive user interface
