Organic SEO checklist
Hello Guys, Today we’ll be talking about how we can setup an organic SEO posture fo our website.
Here is the list for you:
1. Keyword Research
Identify relevant keywords using tools like Google Keyword Planner or Ubersuggest.
Focus on long-tail keywords that match search intent.
Analyze competitors’ keyword strategies.
2. On-Page SEO
Title Tags: Ensure each page has a unique, keyword-optimized title (around 55-60 characters).
Meta Descriptions: Write compelling descriptions (150-160 characters) for each page, including the primary keyword.
Headings (H1, H2, H3): Structure content with proper heading tags. Ensure H1 includes the target keyword.
URL Structure: Make URLs concise, readable, and keyword-rich.
Internal Linking: Link to other relevant pages on your site to improve navigation and SEO value.
Image Alt Text: Include descriptive alt text with relevant keywords for images.
3. Content Optimization
Create High-Quality Content: Write unique, engaging, and informative content that matches user intent.
Use LSI Keywords: Incorporate latent semantic indexing (LSI) keywords naturally within the content.
Content-Length: Aim for 1,500+ words per post/page, but ensure content quality over length.
Mobile-Friendly: Ensure content is responsive and easily readable on mobile devices.
Optimize for Featured Snippets: Use bullet points, lists, or concise summaries to target snippet placements.
4. Technical SEO
Mobile Optimization: Ensure your site is responsive and provides a good mobile experience.
Page Speed: Optimize loading times by compressing images, minifying CSS/JS, and leveraging browser caching (use tools like GTmetrix or Google PageSpeed Insights).
XML Sitemap: Create and submit an XML sitemap to Google Search Console.
Robots.txt: Ensure the
robots.txt
file is correctly set up to allow search engine crawling.Canonical URLs: Use canonical tags to prevent duplicate content issues.
Schema Markup: Add structured data (schema.org) for rich snippets in search results.
5. Off-Page SEO
Backlink Building: Acquire high-quality backlinks from authoritative sites through guest posting, partnerships, and outreach.
Social Sharing: Encourage content sharing on social media platforms.
Local SEO: For local businesses, optimize Google My Business and acquire local citations.
Online Reviews: Encourage positive reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, etc.
6. User Experience (UX)
Site Navigation: Ensure the site is easy to navigate with clear menus and internal links.
Bounce Rate: Reduce bounce rate by offering clear, relevant content that matches user expectations.
Time on Page: Improve content engagement with videos, infographics, and interactive elements.
7. Analytics and Tracking
Google Analytics: Set up Google Analytics to track user behavior and conversion goals.
Google Search Console: Monitor website performance, identify crawl errors, and track keyword rankings.
Regular Audits: Perform regular SEO audits to identify issues and keep the site optimized.
