Hey everyone!

I’ve officially been on my DevOps learning journey for the past two weeks, and I thought it would be a great time to share a summary of what I’ve learned so far and where I’ve learned it from.

Starting with the Basics of DevOps

I began by diving into the fundamentals of DevOps itself. I wanted to understand what DevOps is, why it’s used, and its relationship with other methodologies like Agile and Waterfall. YouTube has been a fantastic resource for this, and I watched several videos to get a well-rounded understanding of the topic. Some amazing creators I followed for this were:

Savinder Puri

Abhishek Veeramalla

Praveen Singampalli

Their explanations really helped me get a clear grasp of DevOps and its significance in today’s tech world.

Revisiting Python for DevOps

Since I already have a background in Python, I thought it would be a good idea to refresh my knowledge, especially as Python is heavily used in DevOps for tasks like automation and scripting. I followed Abhishek Veeramalla's 18-day "Python for DevOps" course to get a solid revision of the language.

I went over key concepts such as:

Strings, lists, and tuples (and their associated functions)

Loops

Conditional statements

And much more…

I only completed up to Day 9 of the course, as I realized I needed to dive deeper into DevOps concepts before moving forward with the remaining videos. It was a helpful revision, but I felt I needed more knowledge of DevOps practices to fully benefit from the next lessons.

What's Next?

Now that I’ve covered the basics, I’m planning to start learning about SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), as it plays a crucial role in the DevOps pipeline.

Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to receive guidance from some experienced professionals in the field, including:

Veera Reddy Kurukunda

Sai Kattamuri

They’ve been instrumental in helping me sort out my roadmap, and I truly appreciate their insights on how to approach this learning journey.

Looking Forward

So far, the journey has been incredibly exciting and enriching. I’m looking forward to diving deeper into DevOps concepts and tools and sharing my experiences with you all along the way. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to explore and learn!

Feel free to drop your thoughts, questions, or any suggestions on what I should study next in the comments. I’m always open to feedback and love hearing from others in the community!

Thanks for reading, and happy learning!
