December 1st, 2024, marked the dawn of Unfold Hackathon—a gladiatorial arena where developers, DevRels, and Web3 dreamers clashed over code, caffeine, and, occasionally, existential dread.

We arrived bright and early (well, at 10 AM, but close enough), greeted by a frenzy of QR code scanning and registration. Imagine this: dozens of techies fumbling with their phones trying to align QR codes perfectly, all while trying not to spill their coffee. A truly modern battle of dexterity.

The Big Hall and Big Dreams

Once registered, we stepped into The Big Hall. And by big, we mean BIG. It was the kind of space that whispered, “Dream big or go home.” Here, we mingled with a vibrant crowd of developers and DevRels, each armed with ideas, laptops, and, of course, stickers. The energy was electric, the air thick with ambition and just a hint of burnt coffee.

Notable Web3 platforms had set up shop, including Okto, Rabble, QuillAI, and CoinDCX. These weren’t just booths—they were shrines to innovation, where enthusiasts and experts alike congregated to trade ideas, pitch projects, and casually flex their knowledge of blockchain jargon.

Building the Dream: Our Rabble-Based Meme Coin Platform

After some handshakes and sticker swaps, we got down to business. Our project? A Rabble-powered platform that dares to answer one of the greatest questions of our time: “Which meme coin should I trust with my hard-earned crypto?”

Here’s the pitch:

  • Social Sentiment Analysis: Using the Twitter API to analyze engagement metrics—number of tweets, likes, retweets, and the almighty trending hashtags.

  • User Empowerment: Help users make data-driven decisions in the whimsical world of meme coins.

  • Voting with a Twist: Add a gamified voting feature where users predict token price movements. And because we’re extra, we’re integrating Catoff Gaming and Okto to make it all shine.

Building this platform felt like crafting a masterpiece—or at least, a really cool doodle. We sketched ideas, debated over tech stacks, and fueled ourselves with copious amounts of snacks and caffeine. Somewhere between “How do we call this API?” and “Does anyone have an extra charger?” the day slipped away.

The People Behind the Platforms

One of the best parts of Day 1 was meeting the people behind the platforms. Okto’s team shared insights on DeFi and multi-chain security, while Rabble reps talked passionately about how their framework could reshape the Web3 space. QuillAI impressed with its AI-powered tools, and CoinDCX had us dreaming of trading strategies.

Day 1 Wrap-Up: Progress, People, and Promise

As the sun dipped below the horizon, signaling the end of Day 1, we paused to reflect on everything we had accomplished. The day had been a whirlwind of QR codes, caffeine, coding, and conversation, but through the chaos emerged something truly special: the foundation of our Rabble-powered meme coin platform.

Our team had gelled over shared ideas, turning scattered thoughts into structured goals. From sketching out the user flow to finalizing the integration strategy with Catoff Gaming and Okto, every step brought us closer to realizing our vision. Was it perfect? Far from it. But hackathons are rarely about perfection—they’re about the raw, unfiltered magic of building something new, something bold.

Of course, the road wasn’t without its bumps. We spent a solid 20 minutes debugging a typo in a critical line of code—a humbling reminder that even the brightest minds are no match for a misplaced semicolon. But these moments weren’t setbacks; they were proof of our determination to push through and create something meaningful.

And then there were the people. The Unfold Hackathon wasn’t just a gathering of developers—it was a melting pot of ideas and expertise. Every conversation we had, whether with fellow participants or representatives from Web3 giants like Okto, Rabble, QuillAI, and CoinDCX, left us feeling inspired. Their insights and encouragement weren’t just helpful; they were fuel for the fire driving our project forward.

As we packed up our laptops and wiped the last smudges of marker off the whiteboard, a sense of accomplishment settled over us. Day 1 had been about ideation, collaboration, and setting the stage. We had laid the groundwork for something exciting, and the possibilities for Day 2 felt endless.

Tomorrow, we’ll dive deeper into development, refining our platform and bringing our vision to life. There will be challenges, no doubt, but we’re ready. After all, hackathons aren’t just about building products—they’re about learning, growing, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

So, as we head off for some much-needed rest (and maybe one last debugging session), one thing is clear: this is only the beginning. Stay tuned. Day 2 is where the magic truly happens.

Day 2: Coffee, Chaos, and MEMEX Madness

They say hackathons are marathons, not sprints—but this wasn’t just a marathon. It was a marathon where we were dodging sleep deprivation, debugging bugs that seemed to multiply like rabbits, and surviving on enough caffeine to power a small nation.

The night officially kicked off at 10 PM, right after we wolfed down our so-called “hackathon fuel.” It was the kind of meal you don’t critique because it’s the only thing standing between you and coding-induced delirium. With full stomachs and empty sleep tanks, we dove headfirst into the madness, determined to make MEMEX a reality.

The MEMEX Vision: Turning Meme Coins Into a Game of Strategy

MEMEX wasn’t just a project—it was a crusade to bring some semblance of order to the chaotic, meme-driven world of crypto. With three killer features, we were building the ultimate Web3 platform for meme coin enthusiasts:

  1. Compare Meme Coins:
Users can pit meme coins against each other based on hashtag engagement data. Think of it as a Twitter-fueled coin showdown. Which coin has the most tweets? The most likes? The biggest cult following? MEMEX knows, and it’s ready to spill the tea.

  2. Automated Meme Coin Suggestions:
Too tired to scroll through Twitter? Let MEMEX’s algorithm do the dirty work. By analyzing engagement trends, it serves up the meme coin most likely to skyrocket. It’s basically the fortune teller of crypto, minus the crystal ball and incense.

  3. Voting Bounty for Meme Coin Staking:
Why just compare when you can wager? MEMEX lets users vote on which meme coin is staking-worthy, and those who pick the winner share the bounty. It’s part democracy, part gambling, and all chaos—just the way crypto folks like it.

Coding Through Chaos

With our grand vision clear, we plunged into the depths of development. The hours ticked by as we battled APIs, fixed bugs, and occasionally yelled at our laptops for not understanding our brilliance. Sure, we spent 30 minutes debugging a typo (classic), but who hasn’t? It’s a rite of passage at this point.

The scene was pure hackathon gold: laptops overheating, sticky notes piling up, and enough coffee cups to build a small fort. Somewhere around 3 AM, we all hit the kind of delirium that makes even the worst debugging session seem funny. At one point, someone suggested adding a “doge bark” sound effect to the platform just for kicks. It almost made it into the final product.

The Final Stretch

Fast forward to the present: it’s 45 minutes before the deadline. We’re running on fumes, surviving on sheer willpower, and sweating bullets in a hall that feels like a sauna. But here’s the thing—we’re still coding. Still debugging. Still refusing to give up.

MEMEX is alive, and we couldn’t be prouder. Sure, it’s been stitched together with love, caffeine, and some questionable late-night decisions, but that’s what hackathons are all about. It’s not about creating something perfect; it’s about pushing your limits, learning on the fly, and building something you never thought possible in 48 hours.

What We Learned

Day 2 wasn’t just exhausting—it was enlightening. We learned that teamwork can survive even the worst bugs, that caffeine is a developer’s best friend, and that sometimes, the best ideas come when you’re one debugging session away from collapsing.

As the final minutes tick away, we’re racing to the finish line, our hearts pounding with equal parts excitement and exhaustion. We don’t know what the judges will think, but one thing’s for sure: we’ve poured every ounce of energy, creativity, and caffeine into MEMEX.

So here’s to sleepless nights, ambitious dreams, and the chaotic magic of hackathons. MEMEX is ready to make its mark—and maybe, just maybe, so are we. 🚀
