Jeff Bezos Shares His Meeting Style and Productivity Secrets

Jeff Bezos recently revealed his unique approach to meetings at the New York Times Dealbook Summit. The Amazon founder admitted he’s rarely on time for meetings unless it's his first meeting of the day. Bezos explained his preference for "messy" discussions, saying they foster creativity and innovation.

“We do six-page memos, a half-hour study hall to read them, and then we have messy discussions. I like the memos to be clear and beautiful so the discussions can be messy,” he shared.

Bezos also revealed his strategy to combat bias during decision-making. He said the most junior person in the meeting speaks first, with Bezos giving his opinion last to ensure decisions are balanced and not swayed by senior leaders.

“I’m a very easy person to influence. I change my mind a lot, but a few times, no force can move me because I’m absolutely certain of something,” he added.
