KPI(Key Performance Index) is crucial when it comes down to tracking how well your project/company is performing. Rather focusing on your weak intuition, it allows you to rely on data and figures when making important decisions. Here are the main KPIs you must know when you are starting a project/company.
DAU / MAU
DAU: Total number of unique users who engage with your service within a 24-hour-period.
MAU: Total number of unique users who engage with your service within a monthly-period.
DAU/MAU calculates the ratio of users that were active daily among all other users who used your service within a month. Essentially, DAU/MAU indicates user’s engagement / stickness of your service. For instance, Facebook boasts DAU/MAU ratio that is over 60%.
