Beneath the Surface

How often does the surface of the sea appear calm and soft, like a silk carpet, evoking peace, stability, and safety…
And how often does that deceptive, tranquil appearance conceal within it the struggle of life and death, the throes of agony. Deep within, whales roam alongside sharks, snakes, and octopuses, devouring one another, chasing each other in an endless frenzy.
Likewise, your face in the mirror may appear serene, gentle, and clear, yet within your soul, demons wrestle, desires ignite, instincts flare, and resentments smolder.
But you, too, are like the sea: if you go beyond the turbulent depths where the whales clash, you reach the stillness of the seabed, where shells, pearls, and coral lie in peace.
Similarly, within yourself, if you transcend the realm of instincts, you reach the realm of the soul, where tranquility flutters, the light of wisdom shines, and pure love flows from the hands of the Merciful Creator. And the Creator tells us that He is near… very near… closer to us than our jugular vein… closer than the blood in our veins. He stands at the doorstep of every soul.
