The Soul

Indeed, how fascinating is this soul within us! It contains elements of fire: desire, hunger, anger, resentment, envy, and malice. It also holds light: forgiveness, tolerance, patience, understanding, and a longing for the supreme Light from which it originated. It carries traits of clay: mechanical repetition, rigidity, monotony, lethargy, and sloth. Yet, it also possesses spirituality: freedom, transparency, creativity, imagination, beauty, and inspiration. This soul is not born as fiery, luminous, earthly, or spiritual. Rather, it is born as a mere potential, capable of rising or falling to any of these levels.
