From a Handful to Thousands: The WeDidIt Story

It all started with a single act of kindness. In the heart of Vijayawada, during the uncertainty of 2020, Sree Krishna Seelam and a small group of individuals took their first step towards change. They cleaned a neglected stretch of the Krishna River—just six or seven people, armed with determination and a vision for a better world. Little did they know that their humble beginning would spark a movement that would touch thousands of lives across India.
Today, WeDidIt is more than just a non-profit organization—it is a growing force of change, uniting thousands of volunteers under a single mission: to leave the world better than they inherited it. From cleaning riverbanks to supporting farmers, recycling used notebooks, and funding the education of 100 rural girls, WeDidIt has proven that small, consistent efforts can lead to remarkable transformations.
Despite launching in the middle of a global pandemic, WeDidIt’s impact was quickly recognized. In 2021, the organization received the Economic Times Excellence in Social Entrepreneurship Award, a testament to the power of grassroots action. But for Sree Krishna Seelam, the mission was never about accolades—it was about embedding a culture of volunteering in young minds, just as he had experienced in his own childhood.
One of WeDidIt’s most impactful initiatives is The MiddleMen, a non-profit project designed to bridge the gap between citizens and the legal system. Through AI-powered tools, The MiddleMen simplifies legal processes, making justice more accessible to those who need it most. In addition, Seelam has pledged the royalties from his book 5 Killer Habits to support WeDidIt’s initiatives, reinforcing his commitment to social change through both action and education.
Stories of transformation continue to emerge from WeDidIt’s work. A young girl from a rural village, who once struggled to afford education, is now studying to become a doctor thanks to the organization’s scholarship program. A farmer, burdened by financial hardships, received crucial support to sustain his land. These are not just stories—they are real lives changed by the unwavering dedication of volunteers who believe in the power of collective action.
At its core, WeDidIt is a movement fueled by compassion, action, and the belief that even the smallest effort can create a lasting impact. Whether it's restoring the environment, supporting underprivileged communities, or making legal aid more accessible, WeDidIt continues to be a beacon of hope for those in need.
If you’re inspired to make a difference, WeDidIt welcomes you with open arms. Whether you choose to volunteer, contribute resources, or simply spread awareness, every action counts. Real change begins when people come together with a shared vision of a better world.
