My Journey as a Young Developer

Introduction
Hi, I’m Ameer Hamza Khan, a 9th-grade student, self-taught developer, and founder of PyGen Labs. My journey in tech started with curiosity—how do apps work? How can I build something useful? Over time, this curiosity turned into a passion for creating tools that solve real problems.
This is the story of why I started PyGen Labs, my challenges, and what I’ve learned so far.
The Beginning: From Curiosity to Coding
I didn’t start with a roadmap—I started with questions. I wanted to build something useful but didn’t know where to begin. I explored Python, JavaScript, and AI models and tested ideas, often running into errors but learning along the way.
Soon, I realized that most tools focus on productivity but miss simplicity. That’s when I built ProjXs, my first project under PyGen Labs—a simple yet powerful note and idea management tool.
Challenges & Learning on the Way
Starting as a solo developer with limited resources wasn’t easy. My laptop wasn’t high-end, I had to find free APIs for AI integration, and deployment issues on platforms like Render.com were frustrating. But each challenge taught me something valuable:
Coding isn’t just about syntax—it’s about solving problems.
Building a project is easy; making it useful is hard.
Resources are limited, but creativity isn’t.
Why PyGen Labs?
I didn’t want to just create random projects—I wanted to build something meaningful. PyGen Labs is my personal lab, where I experiment with ideas, learn, and create tools that help people, whether they are students, professionals, or entrepreneurs.
Right now, ProjXs is live, and I’m trying to make it more useful and better. My vision is to make tech accessible and useful without unnecessary complexity.
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning. I plan to:
Expand ProjXs with better AI-powered suggestions.
Build more tools under PyGen Labs that solve real-world problems.
Document my journey through this blog to help others who are starting out.
If you’re also someone who loves learning, coding, or starting your own project, I’d love to connect! Follow my journey here as I share my experiences, failures, and lessons.
Final Thoughts
Starting PyGen Labs wasn’t just about coding—it was about believing in an idea and making it real. If you have an idea, start today. You don’t need a perfect plan—just the curiosity to explore and the patience to keep going.
Let’s build something great, one step at a time.

PyGen Labs
I’m Ameer Hamza Khan, a 9th-grade student, self-taught developer, and founder of PyGen Labs. Passionate about technology, AI, and innovation, I build tools that solve real-world problems. I started PyGen Labs as a way to create meaningful and practical solutions. My first project, ProjXs, is a note and idea management tool designed to help users organize their thoughts efficiently. Despite limited resources, I experiment with Python, JavaScript, Flask, Google Sheets as a database, and AI models to push my learning further. I document my journey through my blog, sharing insights on coding, startups, and self-learning. Beyond tech, I’m also writing a book, "Emily the Detective of Maplewood", published under Iqbal Khan Books Blits, named after my grandfather. Currently, I study at Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) while building my own startup from scratch. My goal is to create innovative tools that make technology accessible to everyone—students, professionals, and even those without technical knowledge. Follow my journey as I explore coding, AI, and entrepreneurship, one step at a time.
