💁Tip | Using /31 subnet on a Mikrotik🐜

1 min read

The Mikrotik has a strange way of handling a /31 WAN address.
Let us assume the WAN IP provided by the ISP is 1.1.1.2/31. On the Mikrotik you need to configure the WAN IP of 1.1.1.3/32 with a network address of 1.1.1.2. Then you need to add a default route to 1.1.1.2 and wham bam its up and running!
❗The latest v7 RouterOS supports /31 in the same manner as Linux in a normal manner.
