solo-saas-dev-issues

Building a SaaS alone is exciting but challenging. As I work on my full-stack projects and step into freelancing, I’ve faced some real obstacles. Here are the biggest challenges I’ve encountered and how I’m handling them:
1️⃣ No Clear Roadmap = Feeling Stuck
When you’re solo, every decision is on you. Should I focus on features or launch early? Should I work on backend optimizations or UI improvements? It’s easy to get lost.
💡 Solution: I break my work into weekly goals and focus on MVP first—no overthinking, just execution.
2️⃣ Tech is Easy, Getting Users is Hard
I can code all day, but SaaS success isn’t just about building—it’s about getting users. Marketing, outreach, and community engagement take time.
💡 Solution: I’ve started building in public, sharing updates on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Indie Hackers. The more people see my journey, the more they’ll trust what I build.
3️⃣ Burnout is Real
Late nights, debugging, fixing bugs—it never ends. When everything depends on you, it's easy to push too hard.
💡 Solution: I set strict work hours, take breaks, and remind myself that long-term consistency beats short-term overwork.
4️⃣ Will People Actually Pay?
Spending months on a project without knowing if people will pay for it is stressful. What if no one buys?
💡 Solution: Instead of guessing, I talk to potential users early. If people are excited about my product and its real-world impact, it has a chance.
