Introduction

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first entry in what I hope will be a long-lasting series of blog posts documenting my journey from general IT work to becoming a skilled Software Engineer.

My name is Adonnis Peralta. I hold a B.S. in Computer Information Systems (C.I.S.) that I completed in 2009. However, I never had the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a programmer—until now.

Although my desire to become a programmer has never faded, it often felt like the dream was slipping further out of reach. Whether it was the increasingly competitive job market, with thousands of applicants flooding in as soon as a job was posted, the lack of projects in my GitHub portfolio to showcase, or simply feeling like I wasn’t good enough, I let self-doubt take over. I’m sure many of you can relate to these feelings.

But that ends today.

I’m starting this blog to share my infinite love of learning, especially when it comes to programming. I want to document my path to becoming a professional problem-solver and solution-creator, with the ultimate goal of achieving my dream job as a software engineer.

Along the way, I hope to inspire anyone who feels the way I did and show them that it’s never too late to chase your dreams and make them a reality. Until next time. Stay curious!
