Outreachy Contribution Phase: My Open Source Efforts with Fedora

Hello, I'm Precious Israel. Stretch Tasks
Summary:
I conducted a comprehensive audit of the Fedora DEI Resource Page, identifying broken links, missing content, outdated references, and gaps in key sections. My assessment highlighted areas needing improvement, including the lack of visual engagement, incomplete event documentation, and insufficient guidance for contributors. You proposed actionable recommendations such as updating resources, expanding the tools section, embedding testimonials, and implementing a structured maintenance plan. My work ensures the page is more accessible, informative, and engaging for Fedora community members.

Biggest Contribution
My most significant contribution during the Outreachy application phase was reviewing Fedora’s DEI documentation, not only because it gave me insight to really understand the how much Fedora as a community meant, and how very little I knew considering I only saw the community as just a Linux distribution but also because taking up that task really enlightened me on how every tiny detail in a document could easily elevate the importance of that document, primarily, I think I acquired a data analysis skill which helped me to isolate every data and also identify outliers and missing information. Also, this project deepened my knowledge of Fedora not only as a Linux distribution but also as a community of people who although are in a competition but are willing to help other people win. Lastly, this wouldn’t be complete if I don’t mention that this task helped in improving my technical writing skills.
