What happened at Hack With Achieve by Petra. Biggest Fintech Hackathon in Ghana. What you miss!

I was disappointed the host school didn’t have much participation. The hackathon was hosted at Academy City University, with more than 100 hackers coming to camp together for a 36-hour hackathon challenge, nonstop building something with AI and Fintech powered by AchieveByPetra. Mannnnn, It was massive, and the hackers, hipsters, and hustlers came together to form creative teams.
I won’t write so much about the program details and education that went on—they were all live-streamed—you can check TheDumbTechGuy on X for all the live footage. However, this blog is going to highlight the informal sessions and how we chilled you.
2 Last night, while hacking, eating, sleeping, catching a vibe, going on, we discussed opportunities in tech—conversations that you cannot have in a virtual world. I felt a bit lonely as I arrived, but along the way, I met my colleague from GSE, 22, and Daniel, a hacker in the hackathon. Kweku Tech is everywhere, you know. GT pulled up and we all started to collaborate and strike conversations —a healthy workspace and strong communities.
Sedem and co. Charlie—big brain’s yard. So when I go to events like these, and I think about students who don't go into engineering and don’t go for these events, and are not in that circle. Let me be your prophet of doom! Your skills will fail, and you won’t get anywhere. network > skills. If you want to be the best, rock with the best and have a better alliance. If you haven’t watched it too … Sia, go watch Silicon Valley.
Let me tell you what I heard from the pitches—the interesting solutions they came up with.
First, Mana, Rasta fineboy, and his affluent, upper-echelon-style team came up with the most brilliant solution: an AI technology that can help you send money easily, like using voice commands, and even sending texts like Send money to Mum, and you are the final authorized payment with your pin. The Ai can also educate you on the girls who bill you much, and you are buying too much data for tiktok and so much more. Charlie, they deserved the 15K GHS.
The First runner up Was Financial Copilot. There’s one guy on their team—he’s called Osei when playing videos — this guy didn’t let me see top 6:0, 4:0, or 7:0 on PS5 FIFA 25. so I vex am, and I wouldn’t write about their idea, and even during their pitch I was chit-chatting on the phone outside about something important so I didn’t hear much. But let me tell you about AgexAI - The most interest idea of them all, even commended by the KeyNote speakers - it was a cybersecurity service layered on blockchain, and Ai to make event centralized Transactions should be atomic to avoid fraudulent activities, and even preaching rasing suspicions flags for new accounts for big funds like Paypal do. But they were too slow for the demo side, so they didn’t win. but omo y3 guy, paa
The Second RunnerUp - Team Excellency, It vitamin solution, Charlie Oseyyy, a very sweet vitaman he emphasized—the solution was an SDK, an API for banks, corporations, and regular people. His solution was an AI improving your momo statement, and having monthly wrapped transactions like your spotify playlist. You see the vibe and swag- They meant it too. I said I wont give you full account of the event; go to Youtube and catch up with full podcast and everything
Thanks for reading. Links to catch up with the vibe
