How I Built 3 Apps in a Single Day (Without Going Crazy)

Why Build 3 Apps in a Day?
It started as an experiment. I was obsessed with speed. What would happen if, instead of chasing a “big idea” for weeks, I focused on building quickly, validating fast, and moving on?
The only rule I set for myself: don’t aim for perfection. Just ship.
The Rules of the Game
To stay on track, I gave myself three boundaries:
Each app had to solve one clear problem.
I had to use AI to speed up development.
It had to be live and accessible by the end of the day.
Spoiler: I did it. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing.
Tools I Used
co.dev — the engine behind it all: design, logic, and deployment in one place.
Notion — for jotting down app ideas and outlining user flows.
ChatGPT — for refining copy, writing logic snippets, and brainstorming features.
Google Sheets — yes, still my go-to for quick feedback tracking.
App 1 — “QuoteLoop”
What it does: Sends you a daily inspirational quote based on your mood.
Build time: 2 hours
How I made it: Used co.dev to build the interface and logic. Asked the AI to generate emotional categories and quote suggestions. Loaded them in manually.
Lesson learned: Apps that spark an emotion often win over those packed with features.
App 2 — “QuickForm”
What it does: Lets anyone create a custom form in 2 clicks and receive responses via email.
Build time: 3 hours
How I made it: Noticed people on Twitter asking for tools with no login and no friction. I focused on the essentials: create, share, receive. That’s it.
Lesson learned: Removing friction is more powerful than adding options.
App 3 — “FocusTimer”
What it does: A Pomodoro timer that rewards you with virtual tokens for each completed cycle.
Build time: 3.5 hours
How I made it: Reused design components from a previous project and built the flow block by block with AI support.
Lesson learned: Smart reuse = 10x speed.
What I Achieved That Day
3 live and functional apps.
Real user feedback (yes — even a DM saying “this is cool” counts).
Letting go of the “it’s not ready yet” mindset.
So What’s Next?
One of the apps will probably evolve and grow. The other two might not. And that’s okay. What changed for me is how I build: I no longer start with “how do I build this?” but with “what can I launch today?”
Tips If You Want to Try This Yourself
Don’t start with a “big idea.” Start with something you’d build for yourself.
Set a time limit. Creativity thrives under pressure.
Use AI as a partner, not a crutch.
Don’t fear “smart copy-pasting.”
Share your process. Sometimes what you build isn’t the product — it’s the story you create around it.
Final Thoughts
You don’t need to build 3 apps in a day. But you can give yourself permission to create without fear. To build without chasing perfection. To ship something just to learn from it.
Speed, when used well, is a massive advantage.
And now that I’ve tried it, I’m not going back.
