My Ergonomic Minimalist Desk Setup

Over the past year, I’ve reimagined my workspace. I wanted something minimal, intentional, and energizing — a space that reflects who I am, how I work, and where I live.
This is not just a desk. This is my command center.
What’s on My Desk?
Everything you see has a purpose:
A MacBook Air with an M3 chip — light, reliable, and my main machine for deep-focus work and mobility.
A heavy-duty Lenovo ThinkPad — my work-issued laptop. It rarely leaves the desk (for good reason).
A backup power station — Because I live in Ukraine, where Russia regularly attacks the power grid. Outages happen. But I stay online, stay productive.
A minimalist monitor setup — no clutter, just clarity.
A notebook — for sketching, journaling, even diagramming frontend architectures by hand.
And then, there are things that just make me smile:
A tiny unicorn figure — because even developers deserve whimsy.
A mini football stadium model.
A photo of me and my partner — a daily reminder of who I’m building this life for.
And a plant I named Chuck, after the antagonist from Billions. Ruthless? Maybe. Strategic? Absolutely.
Moving While Working
To fight the sedentary nature of tech work, I installed a stepper and treadmill right under my standing desk. I can brainstorm, code, or join calls while staying physically active. Movement is productivity.
This is my base of operations.
It’s simple, it’s human, it’s built for focus —
And, like Ukraine, it’s built to keep going even when the lights go out.
What about you? Do you have a favorite item on your desk that keeps you going?
