DevOps Definitions That Matter

Two DevOps definitions that shifted my perspective:
🧠 “DevOps is a set of practices and patterns that turn human capital into high-performing organizational capital.”
— John Willis
⚡ “DevOps is the emerging professional movement that advocates a collaborative relationship between Dev and Ops, resulting in faster deployment and more resilient systems.”
— Gene Kim
🔍 Some of the key components of these definitions:
It’s not just about technology.
It’s not just about process.
It’s not just about people.
✅ It’s the combination of all three that brings DevOps to life.
DevOps is about the entire lifecycle — delivering value by building, deploying, operating, and supporting systems in a collaborative and efficient way.
