🚀 From Web Pages to Full-Stack Power: My Journey into Web Development

Hey folks, Pelumi here 👋🏽

If you’ve read my first post, you know I started with mathematics and data science. But today, I want to talk about something equally exciting that’s shaped my tech path — web development.

From small experiments to full-stack Laravel apps powering real-world platforms, web development has become a key pillar of how I build, automate, and solve problems.

🔨 My First Lines of Code on the Web

My earliest work in web dev started with Shopify, where I built and managed an e-commerce store for Urbansgem Lifestyle. That hands-on experience gave me a front-row seat to:

  • Building modern storefronts

  • Running Instagram/Facebook ad campaigns

  • Monitoring customer behavior and optimizing user flow

  • Learning that websites aren't just code — they're businesses

🧠 Leveling Up to Full-Stack Dev

When I joined Risk Control Academy, things got more intense. I transitioned from simple websites to full-stack projects using Laravel, JavaScript, and APIs.

One project that stood out was building a chatbot using Laravel and Groq API. I handled everything:

  • 🧩 Laravel backend

  • 💬 Frontend integration

  • 🧠 Groq-based AI responses

  • 🔐 Authentication + secure API access via AWS IAM

  • 📡 Real-time data scraping with BeautifulSoup and Selenium

See the chatbot on GitHub

This wasn’t just a coding project. It solved real problems — automating responses for our Nigeria Risk Index website and saving hours in manual work.

📈 Automation, Monitoring, and DevOps Touch

One thing I enjoy is making things work without human intervention.

So I went further:

  • Set up SSL certificate expiration alerts with Python + SMTP

  • Automated internal forms using Microsoft Power Automate

  • Created a SharePoint portal for IT operations

These are the kinds of things that bring web + automation + AI together — and that's where I love to be.

🌐 My Stack (so far)

Here’s what I’ve used across different roles and freelance gigs:

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, Tailwind, JavaScript, Gradio

  • Backend: Laravel, PHP, Python, Node.js (beginner)

  • Database: SQL, Firebase, Azure SQL

  • Dev Tools: GitHub, VSCode, Selenium, Power Automate, AWS, Azure

💡 What’s Next?

Right now, I'm focused on:

  • Making scalable Laravel apps

  • Experimenting with React and deploying on Azure

  • Exploring how AI can support web automation at scale

And of course — teaching everything I learn through Peldarg Academy and now, this blog.
