Lately, at work, Iโve been feeling stuck. And this is not because I hate my job or anything dramatic like that. Itโs just that everything has started to feel meh, like Iโm going through the motions without much excitement.
Maybe youโve felt this way too.
You wake up, open your pc, start working, do whatโs expected and later log out. It's not a bad routine but itโs not great either. Youโre not learning anything new, not building anything exciting and honestly? You kind of miss feeling challenged.
Iโve been thinking about what to do with that feeling. And while quitting or changing jobs is always an option, sometimes you just need to shake things up a little from where you are.

I knew I didnโt want to keep feeling like I was just floating through my workdays, so I started exploring small but intentional ways to bring the spark back. Ways to feel excited again, to actually look forward to building and learning and to care a bit more about what I was doing.
Not everything clicked immediately and Iโm still figuring it out as I go. But taking these steps, even in tiny doses, has helped me feel more in control of my growth and less like Iโm stuck on autopilot.

Itโs wild how energizing it is to be in a room full of people building cool things. You get to hear different perspectives, learn about real-life projects and sometimes, just hearing people talk about what theyโre building or struggling with reminded me why I love tech in the first place. Itโs also an easy way to meet people, get inspired and feel part of something bigger than your current sprint.

Right now, AI is booming, and honestly, I didnโt want to get left behind. Learning even the basics of how it works gave me new ideas for how I could apply it to things Iโm already working on. It also made me look forward to logging in again. Thereโs so much happening in tech and picking up a new skill has a way of sparking new ideas, even for old problems. Plus, it feels good to invest in yourself.

Look around, your neighbourhood, your routine, and even your team at work. Is there a problem you can solve with tech? Build it. Test it. Share it. It doesnโt have to be perfect. The process alone can bring back your curiosity.

What are they doing thatโs working? Any features or processes theyโve nailed that you could suggest or improve at your company? That kind of initiative not only gives you something exciting to work on, but can also help you stand out.

Helping someone else grow can be surprisingly refreshing. It reminds you of how far youโve come and lets you see your skills through someone elseโs eyes.

Sometimes what you need isnโt a course or a project, itโs rest. A short break, a weekend off-screen, a moment to breathe. Because letโs be honest, burnout can feel a lot like boredom. And itโs hard to be creative or curious when youโre running on empty. So Iโm learning to rest, too.
Iโm still figuring it out, honestly. But I wanted to share this in case youโre also feeling like youโre just โthereโ at work. Not bad, not great, just.. there.
Youโre not alone. And itโs okay to feel that way. But you donโt have to stay there.
Sometimes, all it takes is one small spark to light things up again And maybe this is your reminder to find yours โจ
Have you ever felt like this? What helped you bounce back? Iโd really love to hear.
