Lately, at work, Iโ€™ve been feeling stuck. And this is not because I hate my job or anything dramatic like that. Itโ€™s just that everything has started to feel meh, like Iโ€™m going through the motions without much excitement.

Maybe youโ€™ve felt this way too.

You wake up, open your pc, start working, do whatโ€™s expected and later log out. It's not a bad routine but itโ€™s not great either. Youโ€™re not learning anything new, not building anything exciting and honestly? You kind of miss feeling challenged.

Iโ€™ve been thinking about what to do with that feeling. And while quitting or changing jobs is always an option, sometimes you just need to shake things up a little from where you are.

I knew I didnโ€™t want to keep feeling like I was just floating through my workdays, so I started exploring small but intentional ways to bring the spark back. Ways to feel excited again, to actually look forward to building and learning and to care a bit more about what I was doing.

Not everything clicked immediately and Iโ€™m still figuring it out as I go. But taking these steps, even in tiny doses, has helped me feel more in control of my growth and less like Iโ€™m stuck on autopilot.

Itโ€™s wild how energizing it is to be in a room full of people building cool things. You get to hear different perspectives, learn about real-life projects and sometimes, just hearing people talk about what theyโ€™re building or struggling with reminded me why I love tech in the first place. Itโ€™s also an easy way to meet people, get inspired and feel part of something bigger than your current sprint.

Right now, AI is booming, and honestly, I didnโ€™t want to get left behind. Learning even the basics of how it works gave me new ideas for how I could apply it to things Iโ€™m already working on. It also made me look forward to logging in again. Thereโ€™s so much happening in tech and picking up a new skill has a way of sparking new ideas, even for old problems. Plus, it feels good to invest in yourself.

Look around, your neighbourhood, your routine, and even your team at work. Is there a problem you can solve with tech? Build it. Test it. Share it. It doesnโ€™t have to be perfect. The process alone can bring back your curiosity.

What are they doing thatโ€™s working? Any features or processes theyโ€™ve nailed that you could suggest or improve at your company? That kind of initiative not only gives you something exciting to work on, but can also help you stand out.

Helping someone else grow can be surprisingly refreshing. It reminds you of how far youโ€™ve come and lets you see your skills through someone elseโ€™s eyes.

Sometimes what you need isnโ€™t a course or a project, itโ€™s rest. A short break, a weekend off-screen, a moment to breathe. Because letโ€™s be honest, burnout can feel a lot like boredom. And itโ€™s hard to be creative or curious when youโ€™re running on empty. So Iโ€™m learning to rest, too.

Iโ€™m still figuring it out, honestly. But I wanted to share this in case youโ€™re also feeling like youโ€™re just โ€œthereโ€ at work. Not bad, not great, just.. there.

Youโ€™re not alone. And itโ€™s okay to feel that way. But you donโ€™t have to stay there.

Sometimes, all it takes is one small spark to light things up again And maybe this is your reminder to find yours โœจ

Have you ever felt like this? What helped you bounce back? Iโ€™d really love to hear.
