Getting to the Root of Your Fear

We all have fears some we can name instantly, like a fear of heights or spiders, while others sit deep beneath the surface, controlling our choices in ways we don’t even realize. But where do these fears come from? And more importantly, how do we face them?

What Triggered It?

Fear doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. Something—an event, a feeling, a memory—triggered it. Maybe it was how your heart raced when you were laughed at in school. Maybe it was the sharp sting of rejection, the loss of security, or the moment you realized the world wasn’t as safe as you once believed.

Fear often starts as a single moment. But if we don’t process it, that moment becomes a pattern. And before we know it, we’re avoiding things, people, opportunities—without fully understanding why.

Looking Back: What in the Past Shaped This Fear?

Digging into our past isn’t always comfortable, but it’s necessary. Think about the things that make you anxious today. What connects them?

  • A fear of abandonment could trace back to being left out as a child.

  • A fear of failure might have started when someone made you feel like mistakes weren’t allowed.

  • A fear of speaking up could come from being silenced too many times.

These fears don’t mean we’re weak. They mean we’ve experienced something that shaped us. But recognizing them is the first step to regaining our power.

So, What Now?

Once you identify your fear, you decide what to do with it. Do you let it keep controlling you? Or do you start challenging it, one small, brave step at a time?

Facing fear isn’t about pretending it doesn’t exist. It’s about understanding it, acknowledging its roots, and deciding that it doesn’t get to dictate your life anymore.

What fear have you been carrying? And what’s one step you can take today to loosen its grip?

Choose yourself. Choose Chi’va.

Fear has shaped you, but it does not define you. You have the power to rewrite the story. Take a deep breath, stand in your truth, and make the choice—to heal, to grow, to be free.

Choose yourself. Choose Chi’va. Because you are worth it.
