I’m Daniel Russell-Einhorn, and I’ve been lucky enough to turn my lifelong love of cycling into a full-time business here in Charleston, South Carolina. I run Daniel’s Custom Cycles, a shop I started from the ground up more than 16 years ago. And even now, walking into the shop each morning still gives me that same rush I felt the first time I put together a bike from scratch.

Where It All Started

My cycling story began like a lot of people’s—riding to class at the College of Charleston, trying to save time and money. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d fall in love with the ride itself.

Cycling gave me clarity, freedom, and purpose. It wasn’t long before I started modifying bikes, fixing up old frames, and eventually sketching my own designs. I realized that for a lot of riders, the "perfect bike" didn’t exist—unless someone built it for them. That someone became me.

I’ve also learned that fit always beats flash. The most expensive bike in the world won’t serve you if it doesn’t feel right. That’s why I make sure every custom build fits like a glove—because the best ride is the one you can’t wait to get back on.
