Day 5: Catching Up After the AIT Hackathon

It’s been a hectic few days—I was at the AIT Hackathon, so things got pretty packed. Couldn’t journal or code much, but today we’re back on track. Got in 3 easy LeetCode problems to shake off the rust and finally started Striver’s A2Z DSA Sheet. Let’s gooo!

About the hackathon—no, we didn’t win, but it was genuinely a good kind of overwhelming. Saw a ton of new tech, unique project ideas, and teams with wild execution skills. It was the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to level up your own game, fast.

We built a project called ZeroLag, an AI-powered assistant focused on helping users deal with OS-level issues—especially system lag, background errors, and performance drops. Our goal was to simplify all that complexity and offer real-time, intelligent help through a native-feeling app.

Here’s what we got done during the hackathon sprint:

  • Chat-based AI Agent: A natural language chatbot that could understand user queries like “my system is slow” or “show recent errors” and respond with helpful steps or checks.

  • Voice + Scheduled Triggers: The agent could be triggered manually, by voice, or automatically every 2 hours or at system boot/shutdown.

  • Dashboard: Usage of Ram , Disk and CPU being displayed.

  • CustomTkinter UI: Built the whole frontend in Python using CustomTkinter for a clean, native app experience.

Did we complete what we wished to? Umm, no. Did we want to add more features? Absolutely!

Luckily, I will have to submit a Python Project very soon. For that I will continue with this project as it was completely made in Python. Also, for the dashboard, which is kind of LAME right now , will be changed as I will be making it in Flask now.(Should’ve done earlier, but Alright!!). I will certainly share the Github link after submissions.

We were racing against time, and since it was my first official hackathon, we made quite many mistakes and had to pull of the project in 12 hours😂, but I’m proud of what we pulled together. The project felt close to something I’d genuinely wish to use use if I wasn’t the one building it.

(Images don’t belong to me. If we need, I can link it in the end from next time.)

Also finally blogging again after a few days—feels good to get words down. That’s what counts. Along with our Blogg, I also journelled and write a chapter in my book (It’s just a simple mystery/love book and I have not titled it yet)

Question for you guys:

“What do you like to do in your leisure time / breaks?“
